Neiman Marcus Window Display
To expose students to a real-time visual merchandising experience by consulting with a local merchant to get “hands on” practical application of store image enhancement and product promotion through the design and execution of a consistent trim message, window display, vitrine design, and aisle presentation.
To capitalize on the resources and expertise of the merchants to gain professional experience.
To apply the Principles and Elements of Design to a three dimensional display and across multiple touch points.
To relate a theme to a target market.
The idea
As a team we had the idea to create a sculptural piece as the background and underlying theme of our window and vitrine displays. It was important to us to bring texture and depth to the window and vitrines to emphasize the garments and accessories.
We cut thousands of pieces of tissue paper into small squares and individually glued each piece to our background board and to the boxes displayed in the vitrines.
