Independent Study: Historic Textiles
Go With the Flow: The Evolution of Androgynous Fashion.
This exhibit shows the evolution of androgynous fashion following nine eras from the 1700’s to 1990:
The Banyan 1700’s
The Suffragettes 1850’s
The Style of Chanel 1920’s
The New Hollywood Glamour 1930’s
Le Smoking by Yves Saint Laurent 1966
The Peacock Revolution 1960’s
The Annie Hall Look 1970’s
The Power Suit 1980’s
The Look of Grunge 1990’s
While working on my independent study in the historic archives I chose and executed this small exhibit showing the flow of androgynous fashion throughout time. As a small team of four, we chose looks, put the displays together, and executed this exhibit that showcased on the University of Texas’ campus and in the exhibition room at the annual UT Austin fashion show.
